About the PrizeSince 2012, the M. Wynn Thomas Prize has been awarded annually to recognise outstanding scholarship in the study of Welsh writing in English. Initiated by Richard Davies of Welsh publisher Parthian, the prize is now curated by the Association for Welsh Writing in English.
The M. Wynn Thomas Prize is currently given in two categories: an 'Open' category and a 'New Scholars' category. For background on the prize and on Professor M. Wynn Thomas, after whom it is named, see the original launch material on the Parthian website. A list of previous winners and judges can be found here. The main sponsor of the prize is the University of Wales Press, and it is also generously supported by Parthian. |
